The Art of Sleep!

I've been doing so much of it lately that I figured I would write about it.
Eddy(my coach) has been telling me all year that before you can be a pro cyclist, you have to be a pro sleeper! I think I've become a Tour de France sleeper this year...I pride myself on getting atleast 12 hours of sleep a night during hard training, plus a nap. It was difficult at first, but once I got used to the feeling that I was sleeping my life away, I noticed a huge difference in my performance!! The key to a great nights sleep is a dark room and comfortable mattress. My secret to a good nap is listening to Pink Floyd...Dark Side of the Moon works like a charm. I know this is a random topic, but it's such a huge part of my life that I feel like you should know about it! 2 days until Pepper Crit!! I'm starting to get excited!
Sweet Dreams!

The end of a long season

My first official season as a cyclist is finally coming to a close! As these photos indicate, I've gone through many changes, progressing from a cat. 4 with no bike handling skills to a cat. 1 with very little bike handling skills :) I was lucky enough mid-way through the season to get a chance to ride for Myogenesis.com, one of the best amateur teams in the southeast. The team director, Eric Murphy, was generous enough to give me a shot, and patient enough to teach me how to race a little smarter! Another big shout out to my coach, Eddy "E-dizzle" Hilger, without him I would still be running around with no plan, an no fitness! I know it's kind of random to start a blog this late in the season, but I figure the off-season will be filled with more than enough fun stories worth sharing.
